Sonus' Silent Ship Technology.

A vessel should be state of the art in every respect. However, this is not always the case if you consider the noise and vibration heard and felt on board.

Measures taken to reduce sound and vibration are often arbitrary and frequently include design failures, construction errors, the incorrect use of materials and ad hoc actions. In short, craftsmen each producing good work in his own field, lack the guidance of one general concept.

Working this way means that the cost effectiveness of noise reduction is far from perfect. It can be seen as either a chain with many weak links (fig 1) or a chain which is strong but has many oversized shackles (fig 2).

several chains

A silent ship requires the chain shown in figure 3 consisting of strong well-designed, adequate techniques that reinforce each other.

The Sonus Silent Ship Technology offers such a chain - it is strong and consists of well balanced links (fig 3) and allows the goal of silence to be achieved at minimum cost, with minimum weight and minimum use of space.

Choosing SSST for a specific vessel guarantees the acoustic support of an experienced acoustical engineer who will provide a state of art contribution towards sound reduction.

SSST will ensure the low-noise construction of the vessel, low-noise installation of engines and auxiliaries, adequate inter-cabin insulation an pleasant/enjoyable room acoustics. SSST ensures the optimal use of finance, effort and material.
